'Robert Percy’s music is distinctive. It draws upon the natural world, the human world, and the musical world. It finds inspiration in the pattern of human speech, in the rhythm of a wind chime, or in a blackbird's song. His music is for orchestra, ensemble, soloist, mixed media, choir and other voices.
It imitates and hints at things. It repeats and varies. It explores interactions between textures, gestures, musical instruments, and between competing or conversing identities. Sometimes his music is gentle, sometimes it is comical. It is exuberant, and it is also poetic.'
